Women Crafts Training

To make an elderly person happy is the noblest act a young person can ever do

Let’s talk about the Vulnerable group of the Elderly People! In Africa, elders in the community have always been a source of wisdom, every wise and successful person in life has had an old woman or man in their success story of life. But how do we ensure that this wisdom stays with us without gambling about the weight that this world brings financially. All we have been doing is give, give give and yet what we give isn’t sustainable at all! Some of our elders have been pushed into the vulnerability group because of the too much responsibility that has been forced on them by their children! I could talk and talk but The Esther Ministry of Maama Catherine prefers a hands on challenge. Meet the elderly group of Kangulumira, we have taken on a course of action to train these ladies on crafts making inorder to make a living for themselves and their grand children that have solely become their responsibility because their parents have to go look for “greener pastures.”

Today the EMMC Team decided to celebrate Women’s Day with the Elderly Group of Kangulumira Archdeaconry. For the past 3 weeks, we’ve been training these ladies to weave beautiful baskets for domestic use at home as well as interior designing. What they have done so far is breath taking, they will keep making these baskets as a source of income for themselves and their households. We now market these baskets on their behalf to generate some little income for them! Feel free to reach out in case you need a set of these beautiful pieces. To God be the Glory!
